SERVICES
All of our services can be customized for your individual needs. Please call us to discuss the specifics of your indoor air quality needs.
Useful for individuals or businesses with non-specific IAQ concerns, this service characterizes and quantifies particles having a biological and non-biological origin including dust,
skin cell fragments, insect biodetritus, total fibers (synthetic
and natural), total pollen, total fungal elements, and soot type particles. A separate analysis can also be performed for measuring the total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) in the air another common source of indoor air quality complaints.
Mold Inspection
A concern for many people, especially for those with allergies and/or asthma, mold can be the source of odors, and the cause of structural damage in a building. A mold inspection consists of a visual examination and air sampling, followed by a written report and recommendations.
HVAC System Cleaning
Also known as air duct cleaning, this is an excellent service for homeowners wanting to eliminate dust, contaminants, and allergens from their heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system and ductwork. We use a negative pressure-source removal process to clean the ductwork, putting the entire ductwork system under a vacuum while each vent is being cleaned, eliminating the opportunity for dust and other contaminants to escape during the cleaning process. When we're through, your system will be clean and running more efficiently.
Crawl spaces are the source of moisture, mold and odors. Crawl spaces, because they are located within the building envelope, can be the source of indoor air quality problems in the occupied areas of the building. Our 6-point crawl space inspection evaluates moisture intrusion into the crawl space from rainwater and groundwater; the relative humidity of the crawl space; the moisture content of the floor joists, sub-floor, and rim joists; the presence of mold; wood rot caused by the wood-decay fungi; and the presence of a vapor barrier and its functionality.
Vapor Barrier Installation
Any buildings with a crawl space foundation should have a vapor
barrier to eliminate moisture intrusion into the building envelope. Excessive moisture facilitates the growth of mold. If the moisture is great enough, the wood-decay fungi become active, damaging the structure of the building. Advanced wood-decay is observed as wood rot. Even in crawl spaces with no standing water, moisture enters the crawl in the form of water vapor and can cause the same problems.
We install Dura-Scrim vapor barriers that contain a nylon mesh reinforcement, making them durable and long lasting. We completely encapsulate the crawl space, preventing moisture intrusion, and protecting your health and investment.
Mold Resistant Coatings
The application of a mold-resistant coating provide long term protection against mold growth in areas that are susceptible to moisture intrusion, such as crawl spaces. Mold resistant coating are ideal for new construction and areas that have previously been contaminated with mold,, but have undergone remediation. EPA registered coatings are also available for use in ductwork constructed of fiberglass duct board, which is prone to mold growth when located in damp places, such as crawl spaces.
